On 28 March 2021, we went to the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya to see *The Night of the Iguana*.
The play, by Tennessee Williams, is set in the 1940s in a remote corner of Mexico’s Pacific coast. The protagonist, Lawrence T. Shannon, is a former reverend turned tour guide who arrives at a small coastal hotel and is reunited with a former lover.
The piece speaks about unease, fragility, desire, beauty and the search for freedom, in an atmosphere charged with emotion and human tension.
It was a free cultural outing to the TNC to share an intense and poetic work by one of the great authors of contemporary theatre.
