On 12 March 2025, we went to the Teatre Victòria in Barcelona to see *Mar i Cel, the musical*.
*Mar i Cel* is one of the great Catalan musicals by Dagoll Dagom, based on the play by Àngel Guimerà, with music by Albert Guinovart and text by Xavier Bru de Sala.
The story takes place on a ship lost in the middle of the sea, where pirates and Christians live together in a context of conflict between East and West. At the centre of the work is an impossible love story between a Christian girl and a Moorish corsair.
It is a musical about intolerance, misunderstanding, opposing religions and cultural borders, but also about love, the desire for freedom and hope.
It was a free cultural outing to enjoy one of the most important musicals in Catalan theatre.
