An outing to the Teatre Apolo to see El Médico, the Musical, a large-scale production based on Noah Gordon’s novel about a young man’s journey to the Persia of Avicenna to study medicine.

On 14 January 2025, we went to the Teatre Apolo in Barcelona to see *El Médico, the Musical*.
The show adapts Noah Gordon’s well-known novel and tells the story of Rob J. Cole, a young man who discovers he has a special gift connected to death and who sets out on a long journey to become a doctor.
The plot takes him from England to medieval Persia, where he wants to study medicine in Isfahan under the guidance of Avicenna, one of the great scholars and physicians of the time.
The musical combines adventure, vocation, knowledge, love and personal growth, with a large-scale stage production.
It was a special cultural outing to share an intense and moving story, connected to the desire to learn, to care and to cross borders.
